DEVNAKO
AN EXPERIMENTAL DEVANAGARI TYPEFACE INSPIRED BY JAPANESE HANKO STAMPS.

Leave a mark

Devnako combines the elegance and versatility of ‘Devanagari’ with the structure and distinctiveness of the traditional Japanese ‘Inkan-seals’ to create a bold and unique display typeface.

Created on a 4x4 grid, each character is designed to achieve the most authentic form based on the Devanagari system while following a set of strict graphic rules.

With all the ascenders, descenders and supporters (Matras) accommodated for within the grid, each character ends up in a square shape. Read from left to right, top to bottom, Devnako provides for a dynamic writing system.

Bold and distinct, it's ideal for branding, editorial design, posters and other graphic expressions.
